For those of you who only like Kraft's version of Mac 'n Cheese you need to try this. This recipe comes courtesy of my mother-in-law. Here is Homemade Mac 'n Cheese like you've never had it before.
Ingredients
1.5 C cooked macaroni
3 T margarine
2 C milk
1/4 C chopped onion (optional--I leave out)
3 T flour
1/2 t. salt
2 C shredded American cheese (we usually take 12 cheese slices, stack them up, and cut into cubes)
Instructions
While macaroni is cooking make white sauce with margarine, flour and milk. Add onion and cheese to sauce and cook until cheese melts. Add macaroni to the sauce and place in 9 x 9 pan or glassware. Bake at 350 until bubbly and brown (about 45 minutes).
